Inferential Statistics
Asks questions regarding the value of parameters of the
probability distributions which lead to the observed data.
Hypothesis tests:
- H0: Null Hypothesis ("no effect")
- HA: Alternative Hypothesis ("some effect")
Basic strategy:
Assume H0. See whether the
data is unlikely given H0.
REJECT H0 if unlikely enough.
